- Wear a Baseball Cap- If you wear a cap backward, not only do you get some head protection but the back of your neck is partially shielded as well. The bill of the hat also helps prevent your mask strap for sliding down or moving. But make sure your hat isn't a color that stands out on the battlefield.
- Wear Gloves- At first I thought I could do with out wearing gloves. And then one day it struck me; no not a brilliant idea, but a paintball right smack dab on the center of my finger. OUCH! I strongly suggest you invest in some gloves.
- Wear Knee Pads- Ok, some people become skeptical when I talk about this one. Have you seen that movie "Black Hawk Down", or have you seen any pictures of modern day soldiers latley? What do they all have in common besides being able to rip you in two?? Knee pads!! This makes crouching a whole lot easier. And out here in the desert you are a bit less likley to get a knee of cacti!
- Bring a roll of Electrical Tape- You never know when your best friend might accidentally spring a leak in his Gas Line. Electrical tape is a great temporary fix to this potential problem.
- Bring a Hex-Key set- A Hex-Key is basically an Allen Wrench, and we all need these. Well Craftsman and the like sell folding sets of these Hex-Keys (Allen Wrenches!) I for example have an 8 Hex-Key set, so I have all the sizes I need to fix Tippmanns to Spyders.
- Bring your own water- This is a must, always bring your own water especially if you are going to play in the desert!
- Carry your Squeegie- This is sort of obvious but if any of you out there don't know, I'll explain. Your accuracy goes to 0% when you break a ball in your barrel. It's a good idea to have a squeegie on hand to get a quick fix.
- Don't get shot- Sorry that wasn't necessary but these are the words of wisdom from the one and only Murder X (Kyle!!).
- Shoot the other guy- Ditto.
- Direct hits to the lenses- If you get hit in the lenses, don't try to wipe it off with your hands or part of your shirt. This will only smear it creating even poorer visibility. When you go paintballing simply bring a wrag and some water to get rid of that sticky paint after painting almost everyone and getting shot by that darn 10 year old newbie.
- Present Company- When you are talking about that awesome paintball match you had last weekend in public, make sure you don't speak out to loudly... People get disgruntled when they hear you talk about how your balls were spraying all over the other guy and how he had welts all over when you were done!
